Welcome to
Abundant Health Acupuncture & Herbs.

We are very glad that you have chosen us to assist you in your journey toward abundant health. Please read this statement to acquaint yourself with our services and policies.

SERVICES
You may receive acupuncture and Oriental herbal medicine, Jin Shin Jyutsu (like Reiki), CranioSacral Therapy, Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique (NAET) or BioSET, Japanese children’s treatment (no acupuncture needles involved) and nutrition and exercise recommendations. We may discuss moods and stress management.

Diane’s services are basically twofold: education and treatment. It is her intention that you receive a diagnosis and full explanation of your condition. She is here to answer your questions and provide you with as much information as possible so that you can heal yourself. This is holistic medicine - it is necessary to consider all the factors and tailor your treatment to your unique condition. Treatment, supported by the highest quality remedies, is intended to help you to be self-sufficient as soon as possible. This is a description of the usual process:

a) The initial visit includes a discovery session for one-half hour or more followed by an acupuncture treatment which takes about 45 minutes and the technique is always gentle with disposable needles. It is very common to fall asleep! Fee: $80; children under 10: $40.

b) At your second visit, Diane presents written observations and recommendations. This begins the education process and will hopefully lead to the increased awareness so necessary for growth and healing. You are your own primary health care giver: bring your questions.
Acupuncture treatment continues. Fee: $80; children under 10: $40.

c) A series of weekly or biweekly, one hour treatments is common. After four to five treatment, we evaluate your progress. Education continues and we work on the challenges together. Children’s visits are usually kept to 15 to 30 minutes. Children respond quickly and benefit greatly from NAET. Regular visits: $60; children under 10: $35.

d) Some folks prefer a simpler approach. You may choose:
i) the consultation and education only (no acupuncture) - fee: $30 per half hour;
ii) to focus on a single issue, for example, an acute injury or smoking cessation.

We can work on a sliding scale: see Payment Policies

APPOINTMENT HOURS
We are available, by appointment, from Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. Lunch is usually from 1 to 2. Special arrangements for extended hours may be made.

If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please do so by noon of the day preceding your appointment. This will allow time for another patient to schedule who may wish to be treated. Our financial policy regarding missed appointments without notice is that the first one is on us. Thereafter, one-half of the regular fee ($30) will be charged if this advance notice is not given.

RECOMMENDATION FOR ENHANCING YOUR TREATMENT
• Please do not wear any fragrances to the office as many people are sensitive to them.
• Keep your appointments as a commitment to your recovery and good health.
• Please arrive promptly without being rushed.
• It is good to eat a light or moderate meal before your treatment.
• Avoid caffeine, alcohol, marijuana or other stimulants for four hours before your treatment.
• Schedule massage or other therapy before acupuncture, if possible.
• For six hours after your treatment, do not take a shower or bath, perform vigorous activity or experience a drastic change in environment. It is nice to be clean for your treatment.
• The more information you bring to the session, the better Diane can help you.
• Feel free to bring questions, concerns and feedback to Diane. Call and schedule a short appointment to discuss these at no charge.

The overarching goal of holistic health care is to bring balance to the body and mind. An excellent way to utilize the services of Abundant Health Acupuncture and Herbs is to receive treatment and guidance during each seasonal change. These are times of transition that impose on the body’s ability to adapt. March, June, September and December are the months of seasonal change in which a preventive treatment is appropriate. Also, if you are going through a particularly stressful time or have a physical or emotional challenge, come in for a “tune-up” as a way to support yourself and maintain abundant health.
